DERMAL ROLLING
Dermal rolling or skin needling can be safely performed on all skin colours and types. It is a technique using a small roller which has tiny needles all the way around. This is used to roll over the skin causing micro trauma to the skin. The roller used is a higher grade for medical use only than the rollers that can be used for home use.
Dermal Rolling works by provoking an inflammatory response which is the body’s natural reaction when trauma occurs. It also causes fibroblasts to be active which promotes the production of collagen (type 3) which matures and remodels, tightening the skin, enhancing skin architecture therefore improving skin appearance. It can take up to 6 weeks for the full results to be seen and it is advised that 3 treatments will give maximum benefits and results.

- IS DERMAL ROLLING PAINFUL?
A numbing cream is applied to the treatment area which will aid patient comfort. Most clients report that the treatment is not painful, but is occasionally a feeling of slight discomfort in more sensitive areas of the face. After treatment the area will have the appearance and feel of light sunburn which usually subsides in 1-2 hours post treatment. No make should be applied for at least12hrs post treatment. It is also advised that a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with SPF50 should be applied for 2 weeks following your treatment to ensure the skin is protected.
During the Dermal rolling treatment the pores of the skin are open this gives the opportunity for products to be applied that will be more effective than when topically applied. During the treatment a multi vitamin serum to aid with the healing process and rejuvenate skin will be applied to achieve the best possible results from treatment.
